St Michael's Church
Weddings
At St Michael’s we will be delighted if you choose to hold your marriage service in our Church.

Marrying in church is a special occasion for everyone. It provides a sign that you are ready to make a public declaration of love and commitment in front of those who love you and are part of your life together.

During the service you will make vows promising to love each other throughout your lifetime and remain together through the good and bad times of life. The ceremony has a spiritual dimension with readings, hymns, prayers and a short talk, and the vicar will ask for God’s blessing on the marriage.

The Church of England has provided a website Your Church Wedding where you will find everything you need to plan your church wedding, from the legal aspects of marriage to a ceremony planner, help with choice of hymns and readings and many frequently asked questions.

There are also a range of wedding books and resources on the Church House Publishing website which you may find useful.
